About Gilbert Republican Women

Founded in 2009, Gilbert Republican Women proudly serves the amazing town of Gilbert, Arizona, one of the fastest-growing large municipalities in the nation. We are affiliated with the Arizona Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women, one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country.

We take our mission, “to inspire, empower and inform” very seriously and we uphold it in all facets of our organization. We want to inspire individuals to take action and make their community a better place. We want to empower people of all walks of life, to include all candidates, to soar to new heights. We want to inform all voters about the issues that surround us. We believe that we are here for a great purpose: to be the difference that our community needs right now. It is our sincere hope that when you join Gilbert Republican Women, you will feel inspired, empowered and informed.

2010 Board of Directors

Margo Treece, President

Gilbert Republican Women’s 2010 President, Margo Treece and her husband, Fred, have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. With offices in Gilbert & Mesa, Margo and Fred are co-owners of Aspen Physical Therapy, P.C. She is very proud of Fred, who was an Olympic Torch Bearer in 2002.

Margo’s commitment to her community is evidenced by her involvement on various boards and committees throughout the Town of Gilbert. As a small businesses owner herself, she is committed to doing everything within her power to advocate on the behalf of the success of small businesses. She is an active member of the Gilbert Small Business Alliance (GSBA) is a GSBA Board Member, a Founding Member of the GSBA’s Gilbert Rising Signature Event and the Chair for the GSBA’s Gilbert Rising Sense of Health Event. She is a Kitchen Cabinet Member, appointed by Mayor John Lewis, and is a Founding Member and the Gala Chair for the Festival of Trees. She is the Chair for the Art & Essay Contest for Constitution Week. She serves as an Associate Member with the Mesa Republican Women and is a Delegate to the Arizona Federation of Women.

Margo is honored to serve as current President for Gilbert Republican Women and is looking forward to leading the club in inspiring, empowering and informing the community.

Karli Rose, 1st Vice President

As a sixth-generation Arizonan with multi-generational Republican roots, Karli Rose is currently the Arizona Team Leader for Sam’s Club Hearing Centers. A graduate of University of Phoenix, (B.A., 2007 and M.B.A., 2009), she completed most of her communication/advertising studies at Brigham Young University, taking a lengthy break to devote time raising her 4 children.

Over her professional career, she has been involved in various industries.  Specifically, she has free-lanced in interior design, been an executive-assistant and corporate officer within the construction industry, taught elementary school for 7 years, and has spent the last several years being licensed and managing several locations within the hearing aid industry.  Additionally, she has been actively involved in her community organizing cultural and musical events and has volunteered extensively in behalf of education and church-related activities. The reward of being a parent is her most-treasured accomplishment as exemplified in her children’s successes, to include a former Miss Arizona, a Pulitzer-nominated journalist, and business entrepreneurs.

Karli plays classical piano because it thrills her and continues to dabble in interior design because her visual gene is always on the go.  In addition, she explores writing because she loves creating with words, mulls over mind-expansion because knowledge intrigues, and is strongly passionate about her 9 grandchildren, because spending free time with family is the glitter in her world.

Judi Price, 2nd Vice President

A proud Arizona Native, Judi Treguboff Price is married to Ronald Price, M.D. Judi & Ronald have 4 children and one granddaughter. Judi is a Brigham Young University graudate, a business owner and real estate investor. She enjoys fitness and gaining knowledge in multiple disciplines. Judi loves to travel and has lived in Hawaii, San Diego & Utah.

Lisa Spaich, Treasurer

Proudly raised in a Republican family, Lisa Spaich grew up with 4 brothers, so she learned early independence and how to take care of herself. Lisa is self employed, owning Spaich Benefits. She has raised 2 children, Nicholas is 25 and currently serving with the Navy in Afghanistan and Melissa is 20 and is a junior at Northern Arizona University, attending on a basketball scholarship. Lisa has always said that she would start finding her own interests & hobbies when her children are grown. As a woman, mother & business owner she is very interested in preserving all of the opportunities she has had, so her beliefs & business sense is what led her to Gilbert Republican Women. She had only intended on sitting in the background and watching for the first year, but we are glad she has accepted the Treasurer position. Lisa loves creating the “behind the scene” details and believes that this group of women are quickly moving ahead. Lisa looks forward to the opportunities to Inspire, Educate & Inform the group and the community.

Beccy Hlawek, Membership & Recording Secretary

Beccy Hlawek, brings to the Gilbert Republican Women club more than 25 years experience in operations, human resources and business management during her career with AlliedSignal, Wells Fargo and Honeywell. Her and husband Andy own MicroNano Inc., a services provider to manufacturers of high-tech equipment and a distributor of commercial LED lighting products. In addition to her vast corporate experiences, which she has been recognized for planning, coordination and execution, Beccy has designed and facilitated numerous training modules in customer excellence, service standards and recovery and customer segmentation. Beccy is Greenbelt certified in Six Sigma methodologies.Beccy and husband Andy have lived in Gilbert for over 16 years and have a 19 year old son, Ryan, and 16 year old daughter, Rachel. The Hlawek family has a deep rooted commitment to the Gilbert community and volunteers with a number of organizations. Beccy was a founding member, board of director and officer for Gilbert Sister Cities, an affiliate of Sister City International, a non-profit organization involving individuals and community organizations in personal diplomacy. She has also served as a Girl Scout leader and was an adult volunteer and council trainer with Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus Pine Council. Since it’s inception, Beccy has served as a committee chairperson and member of the executive board for the Festival of Trees, an event benefiting Banner Gateway Medical Center, the east valley and town of Gilbert.

Kristen Desmangles, Media Chair & Correspondence Secretary

With a passion for creativity and a desire to help organizations reach their fullest potential, Kristen Desmangles brings her background in marketing, advertising and public relations to Gilbert Republican Women. Kristen’s marketing savvy has made a positive impact particularly in the small business and not-for-profit sectors in the greater Phoenix and Chicagoland areas for over 9 years. Prior to her entrance into marketing, she was responsible for the business & statistical analysis department of a large multi-site, multi-national call center headquartered in the Phoenix area. She is the Principal Owner of Visual Additives, a full service marketing & advertising agency headquartered in Gilbert, Arizona.Kristen is currently an active Board Member for several organizations throughout the Phoenix area. She attended the University of Arizona and currently resides in Gilbert, Arizona with her husband, Félix-Albert and son, Zachary.

Rose Muhawi, Historian

Born in Moscow & raised in Poland, Rose Muhawi came to the United States in 1964 at the age of 16. She graduated from nursing school in Boston and married her husband, John. Rose & John have two beautiful daughters. They have had a busy life, moving around the United States and living in 5 states. Rose and John are now retired. Rose has been a proud Republican for her entire adult life. She is very busy and volunteers with many organizations, most of which was done at a hospital. Rose believes in the greatness of our country and feels very blessed to be able to live here.
